Step 1: Check you need a visa
Some passports can enter Vietnam visa-free for a short stay, for example UK, German, French, Japanese and Korean passports for up to 45 days, and most ASEAN passports. If you're not sure, send me your nationality and length of stay and I'll tell you in a minute. Full list: visa by nationality.
Step 2: Send me these from the airport
- A photo of your passport page, flat and sharp, all four corners showing.
- A portrait photo: a selfie against a plain light wall is fine, no glasses.
- Your flight number and departure time, and the airport you land at in Vietnam.
I reply within minutes, day or night, confirm whether the e-visa can be ready before you board, and send a secure payment link.
Step 3: Check in with your e-visa or a check-in letter
If the e-visa is ready, show it at check-in. If your flight leaves before the result, show the free approval letter for check-in, and your e-visa is finished while you fly. Keep WhatsApp on during the flight if you have Wi-Fi.
Options at the airport
| When (Vietnam time) | Option | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Weekday, before 10:30 | Emergency 1 hour | $224 |
| Weekday, before 14:00, flight lands after 18:00 | Urgent 4 hours (result by 18:00) | $104 |
| Friday from 18:00, Saturday or Sunday | Weekend emergency (result by 18:00) | $224 |
Single entry, government fee included. Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Türkiye: +$20. 100% refund if your e-visa is refused. Outside these times, message me anyway: if it can't be done before you board, I'll tell you straight away so you can change your flight instead of paying for nothing.
Already landed in Vietnam?
If you have landed but have not reached the immigration counter yet, WhatsApp me straight away, before you queue. Once you have been through immigration or been refused entry, I can't help any more. Please don't fly to Vietnam hoping to sort the visa out on arrival: without an e-visa or an approval letter arranged in advance, there is no visa at the counter for you.
Don't do this
- Don't pay a stranger at the airport who offers to "fix" your visa. Check that any agent has a licence and real reviews. My company, Joey Visa Vietnam, holds business licence 0108048938.
- Don't submit a second application if you already applied on evisa.gov.vn. Send me your code and I'll speed up the one you have.
- Don't guess your details. One wrong passport number means a new application. See the name format guide.
FAQ
I'm at the airport and don't have a Vietnam visa. What should I do?
Don't check in yet. Message Paul on WhatsApp at +84 369 287 987 with your passport photo, a portrait photo and your flight time. On weekdays an emergency e-visa can be ready in 1 hour if you apply before 10:30 Vietnam time, and you get a free approval letter for check-in if you board before the result.
Will the airline let me board without a Vietnam visa?
Usually not. Airlines check that you have a Vietnam e-visa, an approval letter or a visa-free passport. With an urgent order from Paul, you get a free approval letter for check-in.
Can I get a visa on arrival in Vietnam without arranging it first?
No. Visa on arrival needs an approval letter arranged before you fly, plus a $25 stamping fee in cash at the airport.
I have landed in Vietnam without a visa. Can you help?
Only if you have not reached the immigration counter yet. Message Paul on WhatsApp straight away, before you queue. After immigration or a refusal of entry, he can't help.
How much is an emergency Vietnam e-visa?
$224 for a 1-hour result on weekdays or the weekend emergency, and $104 for 4 hours, government fee included.
