Common mistakes I see from UK applicants
- Counting the days wrong: 45 days includes your arrival day. Book your flight out on day 45 at the latest.
- Assuming you can extend in Vietnam: plan the e-visa before you fly if there's any chance you'll stay longer.
- Middle names left out on the e-visa. Copy your name exactly as printed in the passport.
FAQ
Do British citizens need a visa for Vietnam?
Not for stays of up to 45 days on a British citizen passport. For longer stays you need an e-visa, valid up to 90 days.
Can I stay in Vietnam for 3 months as a UK citizen?
Yes, with an e-visa. Apply for a 90-day e-visa before you travel; single entry is $45 and multiple entry $70 with Paul.
Does the 45-day exemption apply to BN(O) passports?
No. Travellers with a British National (Overseas) passport need an e-visa.
I fly in two days and plan to stay 2 months. Is it too late?
No. Urgent e-visas take from 1 hour to 3 working days, with a weekend option. Message me your flight date.
Can I extend the 45 days inside Vietnam?
Don't count on it. If you might stay longer than 45 days, get the 90-day e-visa before you fly.
